The South Florida Business Journal recently ran a cover story on how Florida's legalization of medical marijuana in 2016 has created a slippery slope for both employees and employers. Gunster labor & employment law attorney Brian McPherson was tapped for his thoughts, saying that “Laws surrounding medical marijuana are in a state of flux, in Florida and across the country.” While courts have largely sided with employers in discrimination lawsuits levied by patients, some recent cases have shifted their verdicts in favor of employees.
