Dealing with technology changes in the legal industryIn Florida Trend's July 2018 issue, legal industry leaders delve into the challenges and impacts that technology has had on the industry. Gunster CEO and managing shareholder Bill Perry was tapped to weigh in on how he has seen the effects of technology in the past five to 10 years within the firm. Perry explains how technology has changed the speed at which things are done in a law firm – specifically when it comes to communicating with clients. He also discussed the role technology now plays when it comes to legal cases in terms of fair and open electronic discovery. But as with any advancement comes new challenges, as Perry states how overreliance on both technology and speed can cause its own set of hurdles.

In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the firm, Perry continues to practice real estate and business law, specializing in complex commercial and financial transactions. As a practicing lawyer, he has worked on many large residential and commercial real estate projects throughout the state. Specifically, working on a variety of infrastructure projects that have helped shape South Florida, including power plants, airports and large residential communities.
