WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2016)- Gunster, Florida’s law firm for business, is pleased to announce that Susan Faby, Human Resources director at the firm, is a finalist for the first-ever Excellence in Human Resources Awards given by South Florida Business and Wealth magazine. Human resources professionals have been nominated in 13 industries and one winner will be selected in each. Faby is nominated in the area of legal human resources.

Gunster Human Resources Director Susan FabyThe winners will be announced on February 25 at The Venue Fort Lauderdale during a celebration featuring cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and an awards ceremony. Tickets cost $150 and are available for purchase on South Florida Business and Wealth’s website.

South Florida Business and Wealth created the Excellence in Human Resources Awards to honor the role that these professionals play in growing businesses and organizations and nurturing their values.

Faby has been with Gunster since 2013. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Human Resource Association of Palm Beach County, and the Association of Legal Administrators Palm Beach County. In her role as Human Resources director, Faby is responsible for human resources policy implementation, organizational development, staffing and recruitment, benefits, compensation, training and development, and employee relations.

There are four finalists for the award in the area of legal human resources. Other categories include banking, club sports and travel, construction, education, financial services, health care and insurance, hospitals, hospitality, nonprofit and professional organizations, retail and marketing and transportation and logistics. Pat Ahern of Cross County Healthcare will also be honored with a lifetime achievement award.

UPDATE: Faby was selected as the winner in the legal human resources industry at the February 25 event.
