Gunster is pleased to announce that following months of research and interviews, Florida Trend has published its 2023 “Florida 500” list, which highlights Florida’s most influential business leaders from different economic sectors throughout the state. For the second year in a row, Gunster's Bill Perry, George LeMieux, Mike Tanner and Peter Quinter are featured on the highly selective list, representing the most honorees of any law firm.
To develop the list, 500 executives were selected based on extensive contacts in regional business circles. A variety of sources were tapped for their feedback, including input from leaders of economic development organizations, professional associations and others who know their communities, industries and the state well.
Florida Trend Publisher David Denor noted in his publisher's letter to selectees, "It is your commitment, focus and drive to continue to move Florida forward that singles you out among your peers for this distinction. Your selection to the Florida 500 truly distinguishes you as a leader that is shaping Florida for the future."
Under Perry's leadership as CEO and managing shareholder, Gunster has grown to more than 280 attorneys and consultants across 13 connected offices throughout Florida. Perry continues to practice real estate and business law in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the firm. His work has significantly shaped the trajectory of South Florida, with infrastructure projects including power plants, airports and large residential communities and a client list of real estate developers, contractors, shipping companies, railways, energy companies, aggregate suppliers and road contractors.
Gunster Chairman of the Board LeMieux returned to the firm as an accomplished public servant and politician, serving as Deputy Florida Attorney General, Chief of Staff to Florida Governor Charlie Crist and Florida’s 34th United States Senator. He focuses his practice on resolving business and governmental disputes, while advising CEOs and C-suite executives on business, law and government from a local, state and national perspective. He is also the founder of the LeMieux Center for Public Policy at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Tanner served as the 73rd president of The Florida Bar with priorities centered around improved professionalism and access to justice. With more than 30 years of experience as a seasoned legal strategist focusing on complex litigation, appellate and election law, Tanner is board certified in both civil trial and business litigation by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. He has also been a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers for more than a decade.
Quinter is a board certified attorney who leads Gunster's U.S. Customs and International Trade practice while representing individuals and companies involved in the wide variety of legal issues associated with international trade and transportation. Prior to entering private practice, Quinter served as legal counsel at the Southeast Regional Headquarters of the U.S. Customs Service in Miami, Florida, where he advised on virtually all U.S. Customs activities. He also assisted the U.S. Department of Justice in prosecuting various customs violations.
In its steadfast commitment to Leading Florida Forward, Gunster and its attorneys continue to garner recognition by leading industry ranking publications including Florida Trend, Chambers USA, Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
