TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 4, 2016) – Gunster, Florida’s law firm for business, is pleased to announce that the second winner of the environmental law scholarship and clerkship, Dylan Bailey Howard, has successfully completed the program and the firm will accept new applicants later this year.
The environmental law scholarship and clerkship is a unique opportunity combining a $5,000 scholarship with a ten-week paid clerkship in Gunster’s Tallahassee office. The firm is partnered with Florida State University’s College of Law to select the best applicant for the program. Students in their second year of law school who have an excellent academic record and an interest in environmental law are invited to apply.
One of the primary purposes of the program is to invest in young talent who will influence the environmental legal industry in the future. Gunster’s environmental and land use practice represents a highly sophisticated clientele made up of public and private, national and international organizations. Gunster represents clients in all aspects of land use, environmental, property rights, development and acquisition matters.
Howard is a student at Florida State University’s College of Law, and a native Floridian whose passion for environmental law stems from what he describes as “the need to protect the natural beauty and resources of our State while also ensuring an economic future founded on growth and prosperity.”
In 2013, Lauren Reynolds was awarded the scholarship. She was selected by the dean’s office and environmental law faculty at FSU’s College of Law.
