WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 10, 2019) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Orlando office managing shareholder Derek Bruce has been invited by the Orlando Economic Partnership to serve on the work group of its Alliance for Regional Transportation (ART).
The ART initiative was established within OEP to serve as an educational venue and advocacy group for smart transportation solutions. The work group is a small group of representatives from some of Central Florida’s largest employers and transportation stakeholders across a variety of industries. The group will meet over the course of the next few months to have focused discussions in order to develop an articulated policy statement on transportation planning and priorities.
With nearly twenty years’ of practice, Bruce has developed experience in numerous areas of the law, ranging from the representation of clients in complex business litigation and property tax disputes, to the negotiation of large real estate transactions and the resolution of sensitive land use issues.
He previously served on the Orange County Board of Zoning Adjustment and the Orange County Planning and Zoning Commission where he developed an understanding of the codes and regulations in order to advance a regional approach to development. Bruce has also served on the boards of numerous statewide and local community organizations including Leadership Florida, the Central Florida Foundation, the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida and the Randy Roberts Foundation.
