WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 16, 2014) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce attorney Edward F. Tancer has been appointed to the board of directors for the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County.
Ed Tancer, a shareholder in Gunster’s West Palm Beach office, focuses his law practice on corporate governance, commercial transactions and general business counseling.
Tancer has long been dedicated to the local education community previously as chair of the Palm Beach County School Board Budget Advisory Committee and as a member of the board of directors of Suncoast High School Foundation.
Before joining Gunster, Tancer spent more than 20 years at NextEra Energy and its subsidiary, Florida Power & Light, as in-house general counsel and senior vice president of government affairs.
Palm Beach County’s education foundation is one of the top 50 in the nation and aims to improve public education in the area through grants and programs. The organization also supports more than 400 students with coaching to help increase graduation rates in Palm Beach County schools.
The organization hosted its first Heroes for Education running and walking event last month in Lake Worth. Gunster was a proud sponsor of the event, where all proceeds went to classroom supplies, student scholarships and school programs for the Palm Beach County school district.
