Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce its continued growth with the recent addition of six attorneys: George Metcalfe Jr., Andrew Bayer, Katelynne Boyd, Alicia Gangi, Thomas (Thom) Jenks and Leandra Lopez.

George Metcalfe Jr. joined as of counsel in the Private Wealth Services practice, based in the firm’s Miami office. Metcalfe’s practice is concentrated in domestic and foreign estate planning, with an emphasis on implementing effective tax reduction strategies, estate, trust and guardianship administration, and fiduciary litigation.

Metcalfe earned his LL.M. in taxation from University of Miami; his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center; and a B.S. from Florida State University.

Andrew Bayer joined Gunster’s Corporate Law and Banking & Financial Services practices as an associate in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. He concentrates his practice on complex business matters, including corporate finance and securities transactions, venture capital investments, and mergers and acquisitions. He previously worked as a finance associate at two large international law firms.

Bayer received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from Wheaton College.

Gunster attorney Katelynne Boyd

Katelynne Boyd joined the Business Litigation practice as an associate in the Jacksonville office. She represents clients in a variety of matters, with a focus on construction law. Boyd previously held roles at a defense firm where she advised on workers’ compensation matters, and as a real estate and construction-focused extern with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Boyd earned her J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law and her B.A. from University of Miami.

Alicia Gangi also joined the Business Litigation practice as an associate, based in the Tampa office. She represents clients in all areas of business litigation with a focus on partnership disputes, breaches of contract and trade secret issues.

Gangi graduated with her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and a B.A. from University of South Florida.

Gunster attorney Thom Jenks

Thom Jenks joined the Real Estate Law practice in the Jacksonville office. He has experience representing clients in business and real estate transactions as well as litigating matters involving contract disputes, construction related claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, and real estate litigation. At Gunster, Thom will focus his practice on a variety of commercial real estate transactions.

Jenks received his J.D. from University of Oregon and a B.A. from University of Florida.

Leandra Lopez joined the Business Litigation practice as an associate in the Miami office.

Lopez earned her J.D. from University of Miami School of Law and a B.A. from University of Miami. While in law school, she served as senior articles editor of the University of Miami Business Law Review and received several moot court competition awards.
