WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 14, 2018) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Jason Jones has joined the Private Wealth Services practice in the firm’s Boca Raton and West Palm Beach offices.

“Jason’s experience in trusts and estates planning and tax strategy deepens the bench of our statewide team,” said Lisa Schneider, co-chair of the Private Wealth Services practice. “In order to best serve our clients, it’s important to continue to integrate best-in-class talent with our experienced planners and litigators.”

Gunster attorney Jason JonesJones will focus his practice primarily in the areas of taxation, trusts and estates law. He advises on income, gift and estate tax and trust planning for domestic and foreign high-net-worth individuals, their families and their closely-held businesses. He also counsels clients regarding international ties on U.S. federal income, gift and estate tax matters associated with their cross-border investments, including U.S. real estate investments, business activities and pre-immigration planning. His prior experience includes international tax planning and advising on corporate tax issues such as the application of FIRPTA, tax treaty issues, and domestic/offshore tax compliance, including FATCA, CRS, and withholding tax compliance.

Jones earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida, his J.D. from Tulane University, and his B.A. from University of Virginia. He is frequently tapped as a contributor for various business publications and is in fluent in Spanish.
