WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 12, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce Mary Karr has joined the firm as a shareholder in its Miami office.
Karr is a member of Gunster’s private wealth services practice and has experience in international and domestic estate planning, probate and trust administration, litigation and tax controversy.
She has been consistently listed in Florida Super Lawyers, and was among the publication's Rising Stars in estate planning and probate in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Karr has been recognized as the Best of the Bar by the South Florida Business Journal, is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been included in the annual roundup of Best Lawyers in America for many years. Karr graduated with her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2000 and proceeded to earn her L.L.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law the following year.
A frequent speaker, Karr has presented on a variety of topics at a wide range of locations, including as an annual guest lecturer at a financial planning course at Barry University.
Gunster’s private wealth services practice has been growing over the last few months, most recently with the additions of shareholders Robert Jacobowitz and Steven A. Lessne in West Palm Beach. Overall, the practice has earned high marks from Best Lawyers and 11 private wealth services attorneys are included on the annual list in 2015. Elaine Bucher, a private wealth services shareholder in firm's the West Palm Beach office, was one of six Gunster attorneys named Lawyer of the Year in 2015 for their respective practice areas and geographic region.
