WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (September 16, 2019) – Two shareholders at Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, were recognized in Florida Trend’s Florida 500 list, a special edition that highlights the 500 most influential business leaders in different economic sectors throughout the state. CEO and managing shareholder Bill Perry and Chairman of the Board of Directors and shareholder George LeMieux were both included on the prestigious annual list due to their considerable contributions to growing Florida’s economic engines and its communities.
In his Publisher’s letter, Florida Trend Publisher David Denor noted that all honorees had “the capacity to have an effect on the character, development or behavior of someone or something. The concern, passion and interest these influentials have for improving the state we live in is infectious.” Perry and LeMieux were among an illustrious list of business leaders across an expansive array of industries including agriculture, energy, finance and technology, among many others.
“As the leading business law firm Florida, we greatly appreciate Florida Trend recognizing our contributions and influence throughout the state,” said Bill Perry, managing shareholder of Gunster. “I am honored to be recognized alongside my colleague Senator LeMieux and the rest of the distinguished leaders on this year’s Florida 500 list and we look forward to continuing to do our part in driving economic growth in Florida.”
Perry continues to practice real estate and business law in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the firm, specializing in complex commercial and financial transactions. His work has shaped South Florida, with infrastructure projects including power plants, airports and large residential communities and a client list of real estate developers, contractors, shipping companies, railways, energy companies, aggregate suppliers and road contractors. Under his leadership, the firm has grown to more than 190 attorneys across 12 offices throughout Florida.
LeMieux returned to Gunster as an accomplished public servant and politician, serving as Deputy Florida Attorney General, Chief of Staff to Florida Governor Charlie Crist and Florida’s 34th United States Senator. He focuses his practice on resolving business and governmental disputes, while advising CEOs and C-suite executives on business, law and government from a local, state and national perspective.
