Schwinghammer Jr. was named chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee G for the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida, serving Palm Beach County. He has served on the committee since 2014. Grievance committees are made up of volunteer lawyers and nonlawyers and are responsible for the investigation of possible lawyer misconduct. Each of Florida's 20 judicial circuits has at least one such committee. After hearing a case submitted by bar counsel, the committee decides whether there is probable cause to believe a lawyer violated the professional conduct rules imposed by the Supreme Court of Florida and whether discipline against the lawyer appears to be warranted.

He is board certified by the Florida Bar in business litigation, and has been honored in annual legal industry lists such as Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, Florida Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers. He is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
