Press Release

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 4, 2014) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that one of its shareholders in Miami, Aaron W. Tandy, has been named an officer of the board of governors of the Miami Beach chamber.

Aaron W. Tandy has been appointed vice chair of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce board of governors for 2014-15. He previously served as vice chair in 2010-11, and has been on the board since 2004.

Tandy joins fellow board officers Michael S. Goldberg (chair), Alfredo Gonzalez (vice chair), Adam Cedrati (treasurer) and Madeleine Romanello (pillar chair). The entire board was sworn in at the chamber’s annual meeting in October.

Tandy is actively involved in representing the chamber on a variety of interesting projects to improve the economy and business in Miami Beach, such as public transportation and infrastructure improvements, response to the issue of rising sea levels, and the redevelopment of the Miami Beach Convention Center.

As vice chair, Tandy also ensures board members understand their fiduciary and ethical responsibilities as leaders of the organization, and helps to formulate the chamber’s efforts to improve the community. For example, the chamber recently won a grant to help pay for the presence of nurses in K-6 schools in Miami Beach (none had nurses on duty).

Gunster has been a pillar member of the Miami chamber for more than 20 years.

Tandy also serves on the board of directors for the Miami Beach JCC.
