Press Release

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 9, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that shareholder Nicole K. Atkinson has been elected chair of the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County board of directors.

Nicole Atkinson co-chairs Gunster’s Women’s Leadership Forum and serves on the firm’s diversity committee. She is a member of the business litigation and private wealth services teams and works out of West Palm Beach.

Atkinson was initially appointed to the board of the Women’s Foundation in September 2013. She is currently serving her second two-year term on the board. She will serve as its chair for an indefinite period of time.

The Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County is a nonprofit that aims to make leaders of women. Its programs in the last year included a financial empowerment series presented in partnership with PNC Bank, which delivered information to girls, emerging career women, mothers and recent college graduates. Through the foundation, Atkinson has regularly chaired its popular Raise the Bar event, an annual fundraiser for 400+ area business leaders, legal professionals and elected officials. The March 2015 event raised more than $63,000 to help fund the foundation’s programs.

Atkinson’s law practice includes defending accountants and lawyers in professional liability cases, handling complex business litigation matters, contract disputes, real estate disputes, product liability litigation, intellectual property litigation and estate and trust litigation. She is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and has been honored by Best Lawyers and Florida Super Lawyers.
