WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 5, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that attorney Michael V. Mitrione has been elected to the governing board of the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center for the 2015 - 2016 term.

Mike Mitrione is co-chair of Gunster’s corporate law practice and is a shareholder in the firm’s West Palm Beach office. He concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions of businesses; private equity transactions; banking and financial services; securities and corporate governance; emerging companies; and executive compensation.

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is an award-winning hospital that ranks highly nationwide for stroke and cardiac care. It is one of only four hospitals in the U.S. to be accredited for percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac catheterization and carotid artery stenting by Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence. The hospital also ranks in the top 10 percent in the nation for treatment of stroke by Healthgrades.

Mitrione also serves on the boards of directors and executive committees for Quantum House and the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, as well as on the boards of trustees for the Max Planck Florida Foundation and the Gary Carter Foundation.

Mitrione received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in New York, and is regional president of the law school’s alumni association. He has been honored by Best Lawyers for more than 20 years, holds an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named to Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Trend’s Legal Elite lists for years. In 2010, he was selected Lawyer of the Year for West Palm Beach Corporate Law by Best Lawyers.
