Gunster is pleased to announce that shareholder Greg Schwinghammer was appointed as vice chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fourth District Court of Appeal (4th DCA) during its annual meeting. The 4th DCA handles appeals and extraordinary writ cases from the Fifteenth, Seventeenth, and Nineteenth Judicial Circuits. These are composed of Palm Beach, Broward, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties.
From 2012 to 2020, Schwinghammer served on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, and chaired that Commission for five years. In 2020, he was appointed to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 4th DCA to fill a vacancy, and in 2022 was reappointed to serve a four-year term.
Greg Schwinghammer is a shareholder who joined Gunster in 1996. His practice involves complex business litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and toxic tort and environmental litigation. He represents clients throughout Florida and, when needed, around the country. Greg has tried cases at all levels — from local administrative hearings, to county court commercial evictions, to arbitration, to jury trials in circuit and federal courts. Since 2012, Greg has been involved in the judicial nominating process in Florida.
