Gunster shareholder Miguel Diaz de la Portilla was recently interviewed by Miami Today in connection with the American Dream Mall project that he has been closely involved with.

The American Dream Mall, a proposed megamall and entertainment complex targeted to rise in Northwest Miami-Dade, is now expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Diaz de la Portilla notes that a new design is underway for the project, consisting of 70 percent entertainment and 30 percent retail space.

"The plan was almost 100% under roof," Diaz de la Portilla states. "Now, in the reconceptualization, we're going to have many open space areas and we are looking at more of an entertainment component than a retail component."
