Digital Health and Fierce Healthcare recently spoke with Gunster Shareholder Sam Prokop regarding Amazon's proposed deal to buy One Medical. The transaction is valued at approximately $3.9 billion including the company's net debt.
Prokop believes this precedential transaction will pave the way for other non-traditional buyers to potentially enter this space. "Amazon is not somebody you would typically expect to see in this space,” she notes. “This is really exciting, I think, and opens a whole array of opportunities as far as who might end up being competitors."
