WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 16, 2019) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, this week announced the four J.D. candidates it has selected to join the firm as summer associates in 2019.
The 2019 summer associate class will work out of Gunster’s West Palm Beach, Tampa, and Jacksonville offices where they will have access to attorneys and staff from the firm’s 13 offices across the state. All four members of the 2019 class are expected to graduate with a Juris Doctor degree in May of 2020.
Alexis Deveaux received her undergraduate degree in paralegal studies from St. Petersburg College and is currently earning her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law. She is member of Stetson’s Trial Team, and took top honors in Stetson’s Opening Statement Competition. Deveaux will spend the summer in Gunster’s Tampa office.
Ashley Englund graduated with her undergraduate degree in political science with a law minor from Flagler College and is presently pursuing her J.D. through Florida State University’s College of Law. She is a member of the FSU Moot Court Team and Law Review, and contributes to the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. Prior to law school, Englund was a litigation assistant at a firm in St. Augustine. She will be in the firm’s Jacksonville office this summer.
Ana Paladino received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida and her master’s degree in clinical health counseling from Xavier University. She is currently earning her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Paladino’s prior work experience includes working as an intern for the Fourth DCA and as an administrative clerk in Gunster’s West Palm Beach office. She will return to work in the West Palm Beach office for the summer.
Luke Waldron graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida’s Honors College in political science with a minor in communications and a certificate in Spanish. He is pursuing his J.D. at the Florida State University College of Law. Waldron is a member of the FSU Law Review and Trial Team and will spend the summer in Gunster’s West Palm Beach office.
Each summer, Gunster offers a select group of second-year law students the opportunity to experience and participate in ongoing client matters across a variety of the firm’s areas of practice. Through the program, students hone practical writing and analytical skills through a formal evaluation process, and receive valuable guidance from an assigned mentor and adviser.
