WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 16, 2018) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, today announced that Simone Marstiller has been appointed to the Judicial Management Council of the Florida Supreme Court by Chief Justice Charles Canady.
The Judicial Management Council serves as high-level management consultants to the Florida Supreme Court and are responsible for assisting the chief justice in proactively identifying trends, potential crisis situations, and the means to address them. Marstiller will serve a four-year term on the council concluding in June of 2022.
“I am honored to serve on the Judicial Management Council, and look forward to working with Chief Justice Canady and council members to address issues facing the judicial branch,” said Marstiller regarding her appointment. “Florida citizens and businesses deserve a fair, accessible, well-functioning court system, and I’m eager to use my experience as a judge and lawyer to help achieve that goal.”
Marstiller focuses her practice on government affairs and appellate litigation and consulting. She has dedicated much of her career to public service and various leadership positions in the Florida government including serving as a judge for Florida’s 1st District Court of Appeal, executive director of the Florida Elections Commission, as well as associate deputy attorney general, among others.
Marstiller is a member of the National Association of Women Judges, the Tallahassee Barristers Association and Tallahassee Women Lawyers. Additionally, She serves as an adjunct professor at Florida State University College of Law and Stetson University College of Law.
