WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (March 29, 2019) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Lila Jaber has been honored with the Lifetime Advocacy Award from the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce.
The award recognizes an individual who advocates for the growth and promotion of women and minority business owners in the Big Bend region and is the highest honor given by the BBMC.
“For all that she does and continues to do as a voice for the populations we serve, the BBMC salutes Lila Jaber,” said the Chamber in regards to her being selected.
Jaber serves as the regional managing shareholder at Gunster and leads the firm’s government affairs law & lobbying practice. A former chair of the Florida Public Service Commission, Jaber served two terms as both commissioner and chairman, overseeing the state’s implementation of economic regulatory policy and procedure for the energy, natural gas, water and telecommunications industries. She is also the architect of the Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum, a group focused on highlighting the workforce and economic development contributions of the electric and natural gas industries in the state. Jaber is a founding board member of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, having served since 2012.
She was presented with the award during the 2019 Annual Breakfast Meeting on Friday, March 29 at Tallahassee Community College.
