WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 16, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce Brian L. Belt has joined the firm as a shareholder in the Miami office.

Belt is a member of Gunster’s real estate, corporate and construction practices. He has represented owners, lenders and developers of real estate, condominium, marina and hospitality projects domestically and internationally.

GuBelt, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, is AV rated as determined by Martindale-Hubbell, has been named a Top Lawyer by South Florida Legal Guide and is the author of many published legal works in publications such as Hospitality Lawyer, Inform Legal, the Journal of Commerce.  Belt also is a frequent speaker and presenter and previously served as pro bono counsel for the Greater Miami Tennis and Education Foundation.

In the community, Belt has been previously involved with committees through the University of Miami, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, the Beacon Council, Camillus House and is a former member of the national board of directors for First Serve. Belt also serves on the Condominium and Planned Community Committee for the Florida Bar.

Belt also has extensive experience in acquisition and sales, due diligence, restructuring, land use, leasing, construction and financing.

Gunster recently promoted five of its associates to the shareholder, including Mariana R. Ribeiro in Miami. Earlier this year, Gunster also hired Mary Karr as a shareholder in the Miami office. Karr joined the firm’s private wealth services practice.
