WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 1, 2019) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, today announced that shareholder Mike Freed has been selected to chair The Florida Bar Business Litigation Certification Committee.

Freed was appointed by the newly-elected Florida Bar president, John M. Stewart, and will lead the committee through June 30, 2020.

“It’s an honor to be designated to lead this committee that ensures the competence and professionalism that distinguishes a ‘Florida Bar Board Certified Lawyer,’” said Freed.

Freed is a trial lawyer with a wealth of experience in the courtroom and arbitrations, administrative proceedings and other forms of dispute resolution. Board certified in business litigation, his practice spans a wide range of substantive legal disciplines and specialized industries.

Freed is a former president for the Jacksonville Bar Association, a former president of the Federal Bar Association’s Jacksonville Chapter, and on the executive council for the National Conference of Bar Presidents. He was also appointed by Governor Scott to the Judicial Nominating Commission and served the American Bar Association on the ABA Day planning committee. Freed is a frequent speaker for continuing legal education presentations on various substantive legal topics and professional ethics. He has been published both inside and outside of the legal community on a variety of subjects, and has appeared on The Today Show, 20/20, Good Morning America and National Public Radio.
