WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 13, 2019) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Jeffery Q. Jonasen has been elected chair of the Central Florida Foundation.
The Central Florida Foundation has served as the region’s community foundation for more than 25 years. The Foundation works to increase philanthropy in order to apply creative solutions to some of the community’s most pressing social issues like homelessness, early childhood development, social enterprise, affordable housing, and more. The Foundation holds more than 400 charitable funds that support a wide range of causes and nonprofits.
“I am honored to work with an engaged board and a talented staff of professionals who are all dedicated to helping connect those who care, those with means, and those in need,” said Jonasen regarding his new role as chair. “I look forward to helping more people understand the scope of the Foundation’s work and the opportunities that it makes possible.”
As a shareholder in Gunster’s Orlando office, Jonasen focuses his practice on corporate representation, licensing and distribution, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and corporate finance and securities matters. He has, for more than two decades, advised and counseled business owners, executives and boards of directors concerning their business and commercial transactions, their financings and acquisitions, their corporate governance responsibilities, and their other legal and regulatory obligations. Jonasen has also played critical roles in establishing and leading regional business advocacy and economic development organizations and initiatives. He has served on the board of directors of the Central Florida Foundation since 2015.
