Gunster Shareholder and U.S Customs & International Trade Group Leader Peter Quinter recently authored an op-ed article in SeafoodSource titled "Tips for Dealing with US CBP and FDA Seafood Law Enforcement: FDA Import Alerts."

In the article, Quinter points out that imported seafood carries a greater health risk than other imported food products, which makes it much more highly regulated by the federal government. Peter goes on to provide a sample FDA Import Notice and guidance on the type of documentation to submit to the FDA in seeking a Petition for Removal from Import Alert.
