The first public hearing on International Drive's Vision 2040 plan is currently scheduled for Sept. 15, an Aug. 18 Orlando Sentinel article reports.
The plan updates codes regulating growth and development along I-Drive, the corridor many tourists drive through when visiting Orlando.
According to the Sentinel, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs formed the Convention Plaza District Review Group in late 2014 to write the regulation plan.
Gunster shareholder Allison Turnbull is quoted in a July 21 Sentinel article, saying that concerns have been noted and area property owners and business leaders would like an opportunity to weigh in with possible solutions.
Turnbull, a real estate attorney in Gunster's Orlando office, tells the publication that the latest draft by county planners divides I-Drive into subdistricts, and that a properly vetted growth plan for this very important piece of real estate should be fully considered rather than rushed through the system.
