Gunster shareholder Joseph P. Chase was selected as a 2016 young professionals honoree by South Florida Business Journal for its 40 under 40 awards.

Every year, the Business Journal honors some of the top business leaders in South Florida. Award recipients are noted for their career accomplishments as well as having made significant contributions to their companies and communities – all before the age of 40.

Gunster attorney Joe ChaseChase, a corporate lawyer in Gunster's West Palm Beach office, is an emerging mergers & acquisitions attorney in Florida and an experienced civic leader in Palm Beach County.

His many accomplishments include:

  • chair-elect of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, one of Palm Beach County's top business organizations. He will become the chamber's chair in November 2016.
  • board of directors, Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, Florida's premier nonpartisan political and public affairs organization.
  • executive committee member and property committee chair, YMCA of the Palm Beaches. The property committee seeks to improve the YMCA's current location and identify and build additional YMCAs in the service area. Since Chase became involved, the organization has opened a new preschool facility at its Congress Avenue location and has made numerous other improvements to that facility (including the ongoing construction of new sports fields). Chase has also helped lead a major ongoing effort to open a YMCA in downtown West Palm Beach.

Born and raised in South Florida, Chase's motivation to give back to the community is rooted in his lifelong connection to the region.

Chase has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers as a Rising Star each year since 2012 and was recognized by Florida Trend as an Up & Comer in 2014.
