Two attorneys in Gunster's private wealth services law practice appear in the April 2017 issue of Florida Trend magazine, in its Wealth Management | Economic Backbone section.

Both counselors provide information about how possible changes in tax laws may affect wealth management strategies of individuals and business owners.

Gunster attorney Kevin KaneKevin Kane, a shareholder in Gunster's Jacksonville office, cautions there are far too many variables to pin down about a possible repeal of the federal gift tax and estate tax, so individuals shouldn't make actual adjustments until the law actually changes.

Gunster attorney Elaine BucherElaine Bucher, a shareholder in Gunster's Boca Raton office, indicates that certain will or trust provisions may result in a reduced tax burden if the estate tax is eliminated.

Uncertainty surrounding exactly what will change and how make the path forward unclear. That said, 2017 may be the year business owners see a reduced tax burden, Kane adds.
