Governor Rick Scott recently announced that Hoerbiger will open a new North American manufacturing facility in Florida, creating 420 new jobs and $43.1 million in capital investment. A press release from the governor’s office announced the state-of-the-art plant will be located in Coral Springs, and feature Hoerbiger’s latest production engineering innovations.

The new facility is part of Hoerbiger’s strategy to realign its reciprocating compressor component manufacturing operations in North America.

Lila Jaber, Gunster shareholder and head of the firm’s Government Affairs Law & Lobbying practice, and George LeMieux, former U.S. Senator and Gunster's chairman of the board, served as consultants to Hoerbiger from inception through completion of the deal.

“It was a pleasure to assist Hoerbiger to identify and solidify financial support available for job creation from both state and local government,” Jaber commented.

“We were honored to assist Hoerbiger in establishing its Western Hemisphere headquarters in Coral Springs," said LeMieux. "This expansion will result in more than 400 manufacturing jobs in Broward County and will help realize Governor Scott’s vision of making Florida the best place to build a business in America.”

"Hoerbiger was also courted by the state of Texas. Governor Scott has twice successfully campaigned on the platform of job development and economic expansion,” Jaber said.

"At Gunster, we pride ourselves in working diligently with businesses who are interested in relocating to Florida or expanding their Florida-based business,” Jaber added.

Jaber, whose office is located in Tallahassee, the heart of state government, has been dedicated to promoting civic engagement and economic development in Florida for decades. Her objective was to remove obstacles for Hoerbiger and to streamline the communication process by working cooperatively with government agencies and leaders to secure available financial support for this initiative.

After several weeks of information gathering and negotiation, Jaber was able to close the transaction on behalf of Hoerbiger, resulting in the successful completion of the matter for Hoerbiger, as well as an economic boost for Florida.

“With Gunster’s reputation and relationships at the Capitol and throughout the state," Jaber reflects, "we were able to streamline the communication process, leverage our client’s goals, and bring an outstanding company to the immediate attention of Florida's leadership.”
