Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, has added Maria Acevedo as a shareholder in the firm’s corporate practice. She will be joining the Miami office.
A trilingual Wall Street-trained attorney, Acevedo represents a wide variety of domestic and international companies regarding their U.S. and multinational business law matters, with a particular emphasis on the Caribbean and Latin America. She frequently handles cross-border matters conducted and documented solely in Spanish.
"Acevedo is a seasoned attorney with an acute understanding of the needs of domestic and international clients, which will bolster Gunster’s corporate and international practice,” said Bill Perry, managing shareholder of Gunster. “Her expertise is invaluable to our growth in this vital area of business.”
Acevedo has worked with clients from a diverse range of industries in domestic and international market segments, from entrepreneurs and fast-growing companies to families and corporate clients operating through foreign entities.
Acevedo is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where she was the recipient of a Human Rights Fellowship.
The addition of Acevedo is the latest in a string of new hires Gunster has made this year, which has included more than 10 attorneys who’ve joined the firm throughout its 12 statewide offices.
Gunster among top five law firms in Florida with most 'Legal Elite' honorees
Gunster is pleased to announce that its roster of 19 attorneys honored by Florida Trend in 2015 makes Gunster one of the top 5 firms with the most honorees, according to the publication. Gunster’s 19 honorees are made up of 16 Legal Elite + 3 Legal Elite Up & Comers.
Florida Trend’s Legal Elite listing is an exclusive annual honor that represents fewer than 2 percent of active Florida Bar members. Five of Gunster’s Legal Elite honorees have achieved an even greater distinction: inclusion in the publication’s Hall of Fame, having consistently earned high rankings from their peers.
