Overview
Jorge Zamora provides comprehensive counsel to industry-leading companies on all aspects of employment and labor law, from day-to-day advisory services, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation to immigration, health and safety, government advocacy and dispute resolution. Additionally, he brings experience in handling commercial matters, which complements his labor and employment practice.
Following years of representing management as outside counsel—including practicing at one of the largest boutique labor and employment firms—Jorge spent over five years as in-house counsel to one of the world’s biggest producers of ornamental plants, managing a wide array of legal issues. This deeply enriched his practice by experiencing firsthand what sophisticated consumers of legal services demand: knowledgeable, proficient and responsive lawyers that protect their interests and anticipate their needs. Jorge possesses 360-degree business and legal perspectives that help him in his efforts to reduce the risk of exposure and effectively collaborate with clients to craft practical solutions with long-term utility. With this skill set, Jorge serves as outside general counsel to clients.
He has significant experience in health and workplace safety matters and negotiating, preparing, and enforcing the full range of employment agreements, such as employment contracts, separation and severance agreements, and restrictive covenants. Clients rely on Jorge to resolve EEO claims, wage and hour issues, and unfair competition and trade secret disputes, both in and out of court. He also guides clients in labor relations matters, union avoidance campaigns, collective bargaining, vulnerability assessments, and election strategies and represents them in grievance and arbitration processes. Jorge has overseen numerous investigations, inspections, and audits by government agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Environmental Protection Agency, and their local counterparts.
In addition to his extensive experience in labor and employment law, Jorge has a background in commercial litigation. He has successfully represented clients in complex contract disputes, business torts, and partnership disagreements, bringing a strategic and results-driven approach to resolving challenging legal matters.
In successfully advocating for his clients in regulatory matters and seeking client-beneficial legislative changes, Jorge has developed a broad network of contacts and strong relationships with various federal, state, and local policymakers, government agencies, stakeholders and industry leaders nationwide.
A black belt in Brazilian jiujitsu, Jorge brings the same level of passion, discipline, rigor, and commitment to serving and protecting his clients.
