Overview
Justin Bennett is an attorney in Gunster’s Tampa office. He focuses his practice on business litigation and professional liability and legal malpractice defense. He is well-versed in matters involving contract disputes, business torts, partnership agreements, shareholder litigation and derivative claims, securities fraud matters, noncompete agreements, intellectual property challenges and disputes, and class action cases in both state and federal courts. He has experience in all phases of litigation, from inception through trial. In addition to his trial practice in Florida’s state and federal courts, Justin represents businesses and individuals in appeals before Florida’s District Courts of Appeal and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Justin's approach is pragmatic and effective, taking into account economic realities and offering practical solutions to clients. He is experienced representing a variety of businesses and individuals, including international brand name companies, small businesses, industry-leading product manufacturers and distributors, software developers, physician-owned medical practices, multistate farming operations, and religious organizations. Justin also advises law firms and lawyers in defense of claims for legal malpractice and related claims, and has successfully defended claims against regional, national, and international law firms.
Justin has extensive experience litigating and managing large electronic discovery matters. He works closely with eDiscovery specialists in an effort to design, implement, and manage efficient and effective strategies and processes using innovative technology during the discovery process for the firm’s clients.
Over the past several years, Justin has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers, Florida Trend Legal Elite, and The Best Lawyers in America for his business litigation work and accomplishments. While in law school, Justin served as an editor of the Stetson Law Review, and he also interned for the Honorable Mary S. Scriven of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
