Overview
Natalia Marulanda is an experienced legal talent and career development professional with a demonstrated history of developing and implementing effective strategies to recruit, develop, retain and promote lawyers in the workplace.
As Gunster’s Director of Talent Retention and Development, Natalia supports the firm’s associates throughout their tenure at the firm by ensuring they have the tools and resources they need to succeed and thrive.
In collaboration with the Gunster leadership team, Natalia develops and implements the firm’s retention strategy, monitors associate performance, creates training and learning programs, and manages the associate onboarding process and mentorship program.
Natalia began her career as a practicing lawyer. She worked as an associate at the boutique family and matrimonial law firm, Segal & Greenberg LLP, before transitioning into legal talent development. Prior to joining Gunster, Natalia served as the:
- Mansfield Rule Director at Diversity Lab, where she oversaw the Mansfield Rule certification program in the US, Canada and UK to boost diversity, equity and inclusion in the leadership ranks of law firms
- Associate Director for Career Development at the University of Miami, where she advised law students on career development strategies, represented the law school on and off-campus, and developed and maintained relationships with employers
- Women's Initiative Program Manager at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where she designed and implemented gender diversity and leadership programs aimed at the recruitment, retention and promotion of the firm's women attorneys
- Law Firm Relationship Manager for Bloomberg BNA, where she developed strategies to maintain and grow business relationships with law firms and corporate legal departments that resulted in increased revenue and high retention rates
