WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 18, 2014) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce the addition of five new attorneys to its environmental and land use, corporate and immigration practice groups.

Three of the new hires join Gunster’s environmental and land use practice, one of the firm’s signature legal areas, and one that has garnered praise by legal ranking organizations such as Chambers USA, for its “eminent presence” in the Florida land use and zoning market:

  • Cecile Piverotto focuses her law practice on legislative, regulatory and litigation matters related to water management and water supply. She joins Gunster after a total of 25 years of legal practice at the South Florida Water Management District, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida House of Representatives (Committee on Natural Resources and Conservation). She received her JD from Florida State University in 1989.Three of the new hires join Gunster’s environmental and land use practice, one of the firm’s signature legal areas, and one that has garnered praise by legal ranking organizations such as Chambers USA, for its “eminent presence” in the Florida land use and zoning market:
  • Kyle Knopsnyder previously worked in commercial litigation in Jacksonville, where he focused his practice on complex asset recoveries on behalf of banks and financial institutions. He has also assisted developers in northeast Florida with various issues encountered during the development process. He received his JD from FSU in 2010.
  • Kyle Teal focuses on real estate and property rights litigation, including representing owners and businesses in eminent domain, inverse condemnation, regulatory takings and Bert J. Harris claims. Teal received his JD from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami Gardens in 2012. Before that, he worked as a journalist in Miami, Key West and central Florida.

Stacie Townsend will focus her law practice on mergers and acquisitions and other complex business transactions. She graduated with her JD from the University of Iowa in May of 2014, and earned an MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso. In 2013, Townsend participated in Gunster’s summer associate program, in which a select group of second-year law school students have the opportunity to gain valuable, real-world experience in a diverse, business-focused law firm. Townsend is an award-winning athlete and pitching coach. She played for the Great Britain National softball team over the summers from 2005 through 2012.

Beatriz Osorio is involved in the preparation of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, as well as counseling employers regarding their compliance with U.S. immigration laws. She is a Colombian native and member of the Cuban American Bar Association. She earned her JD from Nova Southeastern University in 2011.
