WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Steven A. Lessne has joined the firm as a shareholder in the West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale offices.

Steven A. Lessne joins Gunster as a shareholder. His practice areas include probate, trust and fiduciary litigation and business, real estate and complex commercial litigation.

Lessne brings nearly 20 years of experience to Gunster’s private wealth services and litigation practices. A South Florida native, he has represented and counseled banks, fiduciaries, companies and individuals in state and federal court and arbitration proceedings throughout the country.

“Steven’s hybrid litigation skills allow him to work with high net worth individuals, fiduciaries and companies in connection with trust, estate and complex business disputes,” says Gunster Managing Shareholder Bill Perry. “He is an asset to our team and we are happy to welcome him to Gunster.”

He is consistently recognized by Florida Super Lawyers, listed among Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, is a recipient of the Bar/Bri Award for having the highest reported score on Florida’s multistate bar exam, and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating and indicator of a lawyer’s high ethical standards and professional ability.

Lessne serves as an advisory board member of Keiser University, is a member of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and is his synagogue’s general counsel. He previously served on the Florida Democratic Lawyers Council, the Democratic Party’s voter protection arm, as lead county counsel for Palm Beach County and then as regional lead counsel overseeing eight counties.

Lessne is one of several recent additions to Gunster’s private wealth services practice. Mary Karr and Robert Jacobowitz recently joined the team in Miami and West Palm Beach, respectively.

Lessne sits on the Probate and Trust Litigation Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar and is a member of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section. He is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
