WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2017) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that attorney Elizabeth A. Bowers has been elected to the 2017-2018 board of directors of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.
The Cultural Council is Palm Beach County’s official arts agency and serves nonprofit cultural organizations and professional artists throughout the county. The council enhances the quality of life and economic growth of the community by creating a cultural destination through support for education and promotion of arts and culture. It administers a portion of local tourist development funds under contract with Palm Beach County government. The council is also innovative and influential in creating additional funding for cultural programs, organizations and professional artists.
Bowers, a Palm Beach County native, is a longtime arts enthusiast. She attended and graduated from the Middle School of the Arts (now known as the Bak Middle School of the Arts) and the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts.
“I’m excited to give back to the community I call home,” Bowers says. “I want to help continue Palm Beach County’s rich legacy with the arts, so I can make sure others have the same access to the arts that I did.”
Bowers earned her J.D. and an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and a B.S. from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
She also currently serves on the executive council of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. Through the section, she has served on several committees that helped draft probate and trust legislation.
