WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 8, 2017) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that shareholder Aaron J. Horowitz was selected as an honoree by the South Florida Business Journal for its 2017 40-under-40 awards.
The Business Journal’s 40-under-40 awards are designed to honor business leaders and c-suite executives under the age of 40 in the tri-county area who are helping to shape Florida’s business climate. The popular annual program culminated in an awards luncheon Aug. 4 in Miami.
Horowitz is a litigator and chairs the firm’s dispute resolution practice.
The youngest practice group leader at Gunster, Horowitz is being honored for his accomplishments and established role in the South Florida community.
Horowitz concentrates his practice in the areas of business litigation, estate and trust litigation, intellectual property litigation and real property litigation. In addition to litigating at the trial court level, he has also represented clients in appellate proceedings before state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Horowitz is a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediator, appellate mediator, and qualified arbitrator. He is the only attorney at Gunster with all three of these designations.
In 2016, he was elected to serve on the executive council of the Florida Bar’s 1,100-member Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.
With this 40-under-40 honor, Horowitz has received a trifecta of honors so far in 2017, including being named to the following lists: Legal Elite Up & Comers by Florida Trend magazine, and Florida Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars.
Horowitz also chairs the firm’s associate development committee, which ensures young attorneys are properly trained and develop productive working relationships with other attorneys within the firm.
Finally, Horowitz’s commitment to his community is evidenced in his efforts on behalf of charitable organizations such as B’nai B’rith Justice Unit (board of directors), Arc Broward, and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ Ghost Light Society.
Additional Gunster attorneys honored by these types of awards in recent years include: Joseph P. Chase; Keith Sonderling; Cristina Papanikos; Brian McPherson; Fabienne Fahnestock; and Adi Rappoport.
