WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (August 6, 2013) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that its managing shareholder, H. William Perry, has been appointed to the board of trustees of the Law Center Association Inc. at the University of Florida for a five-year term, beginning September 21, 2013.
The honor allows Perry, a 1986 alumnus of UF’s Levin College of Law, to continue to play an important role in the college’s growth and development. As a member of the board, Perry will assist in the budgeting process, help provide financial and volunteer resources and facilitate student mentoring programs for the law school. In addition, committee assignments will give him a voice in guiding the dean on matters relating to UF law school students.
The board of trustees, founded in 1960, and the Law Alumni Council, created in 1983, are the primary support and advisory boards for the law school. Both assist with raising private funds to cover expenses not met through state support, tuition or endowment income.
In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the firm, Perry continues to practice real estate and business law, specializing in complex commercial and financial transactions. As a practicing lawyer, he has worked on a variety of infrastructure projects that have helped shape South Florida.
Established in 1925, Gunster is a full-service Florida law firm with 11 offices around the state providing counsel to leading businesses and individuals.
