WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 26, 2019) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, today announced that it was named one of Florida’s “Best Companies To Work For” in 2019 by Florida Trend magazine.
Gunster ranked 26th in the large-company (250+ employees) category and marks the third consecutive year the firm has been recognized as one of the best companies to work for in Florida.
Florida Trend’s ‘Best Companies’ honor is a rigorous competition and many companies seek this honor.
Gunster’s collaborative culture, transparent leadership, family-oriented environment, benefits and bonuses, and staff appreciation initiatives all contribute to the firm’s reputation as a top employer, according to confidential employee surveys. The average length of employment is 11 years, and many employees spend their entire career with the firm.

The annual competition identifies and recognizes Florida’s best employers in small, medium and large categories. It was created by Florida Trend and the Best Companies Group and is endorsed by the HR Florida State Council. Honorees were selected after a thorough, two-step process involving an evaluation of the workplace, its policies, practices, philosophies, and demographics; in addition to a random and confidential survey of company employees designed to measure their engagement and satisfaction.
According to the surveys, one employee stated that Gunster “Communicates with employees and makes them feel important by sharing in the benefits of a good financial year.” Yet another survey revealed that “Gunster creates a culture of excellence, not only for the legal work for its clients, but also for its employees.” Another shared that “We know that providing great client service starts with happy employees.” Another added “Of all the law firms I’ve worked for in the past 25 years, this is the one that feels the most like family.” Lastly, one employee stated “I couldn’t be happier working here, and it’s an organization I plan to retire with.”
