WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2018) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, today announced that it is bolstering its Tampa presence with the addition of five shareholders, two associates and one of counsel attorney. Effective today, attorneys William J. Schifino, Jr., John A. Schifino, Scott Brown, Daniel P. Dietrich and Iden Sinai join the firm as shareholders, Justin Bennett, Madison E.M. The expansion immediately enhances Gunster's proven track record of talent attraction and furthers the firm’s strategic plan to be a dominant player in the legal industry in Florida.
“Tampa is experiencing tremendous growth and expansion. Bill, John and Scott have strong roots and a history of leadership in Tampa and the greater community,” said Bill Perry, Gunster’s managing shareholder. “As a Florida-focused firm, we are bullish on our state. The addition of these attorneys brings increased connectivity and access for our firm and our clients to take advantage of these plentiful opportunities.”
The attorneys have a long-standing legacy in the Tampa community and beyond. William Schifino, Jr. recently served as president of The Florida Bar (from 2016-17) and sits on the Board of Trustees for the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. He has been named the Tampa office managing shareholder for Gunster. Schifino, Sr. has a long and distinguished legal career of more than 40 years, much of which was spent running his own firm in Tampa.
“Gunster’s focus on Florida is a good match for our clients and our community. The statewide footprint provides a significant advantage to our Florida-based clients and is consistent with many of their business models,” said William J. Schifino, Jr. “We are excited to affiliate ourselves with Gunster which firmly believes in Florida’s potential and what it can bring to our clients.”
Among other practice areas, the expansion will boost Gunster's business litigation and real property practices. The attorneys will reside in Gunster's Tampa office at SunTrust Financial Centre.
