WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (August 12, 2013) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce th­at James B. Davis,  a shareholder in Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office and leader of the firm’s tax practice, has joined the adjunct faculty at the University of Miami School of Law.James B. Davis

Davis will teach in UM’s Heckerling graduate program in estate planning on the school’s Coral Gables campus in the fall of 2013.

The program attracts experts in estate planning from across the nation, including partners from elite law firms, such as Gunster, as well as other eminent practitioners and scholars.

As a shareholder at Gunster, Davis counsels individuals and businesses on ERISA and employee benefits law, corporate, partnership and business law/taxation and estate planning in connection with the formation, operation, merger and liquidation of for-profit entities as well as tax-exempt organizations. Davis is Board Certified in Taxation by the Florida Bar, a frequent lecturer and has served as an expert witness as to the qualification of pension plans in bankrupty cases and in civil litigation matters.
