Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce the nine J.D. candidates selected to join the firm’s 2022 Summer Associate Program. The summer associate class will be based in Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa and West Palm Beach offices with access to attorneys and staff from the firm’s 11 offices statewide.

Each summer, Gunster offers a select group of law students the opportunity to experience and participate in ongoing client matters across multiple practices and offices. The program returns to in-person this year and is comprised of second-year law students who have access to diverse, practical experience in a business law-focused firm.  Selection to the program is competitive and students who are invited to participate are in excellent standing amongst their law school classmates.

Nicolas Cathcart earned a B.A. from Florida Atlantic University and is currently pursuing a J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he is an articles editor for the Florida Law Review. He previously interned for the Honorable Kathryn K. Mizelle of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and also gained experience as a former summer intern at Gunster. Cathcart will spend his summer in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.

Ally Chamberlin received a B.A. from University of Florida. She is pursuing a J.D. from University of Miami School of Law and serves as articles and comments editor for the University of Miami Law Review. Chamberlin formerly interned for Judge Fleur Lobree of the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. She will spend her summer in the firm’s Miami office.

Ryan Childress graduated with his B.A. from University of Florida. He is presently pursuing his J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law where he serves as senior research editor for the Florida Law Review. Previously, Ryan interned for the Honorable Bruce E. Reinhart of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He will spend his summer in Gunster’s West Palm Beach office.

Samuel Ciulla received a B.S. from Southeastern University and is currently pursuing a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, where he is executive editor of the Stetson Law Review.  He formerly interned for Bankers Financial Corporation and in the Office of the State Attorney 10th Judicial District. Ciulla will spend his summer in the firm’s Tampa office.

Charly DeVito-Hurley earned a B.S. from Florida State University and is pursuing her J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she is a senior articles editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy. A former summer intern at Gunster, DeVito-Hurley previously interned for the Honorable Raag Singhal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.  She will spend her summer in the firm’s West Palm Beach office.

Benjamin Finkelstein received his B.A. from New York University and is currently pursuing a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Previously, Finkelstein held an apprenticeship for the Honorable Matthew J. D’Emic of the Second Judicial District of the Kings Supreme Court and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Mark Partnow of the Second Judicial District of the Kings Supreme Court. Benjamin will spend his summer in Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office.

Rebecca Maturo earned her B.A. from California State University and an M.S. from University of Cincinnati. She is pursuing a J.D. from Florida State University College of Law where she serves as editor-in-chief for the Florida State University Law Review. She previously interned for the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. Maturo will spend her summer in the firm’s Jacksonville office.

Sarah Reynolds received a B.S. and B.A. from Clemson University. She is presently pursuing her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law and serves as an executive editor of the Florida State University Law Business Review. Previously, Reynolds held an in-house counsel extern position with SBA Communications Corporation. She will spend her summer in Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office.

Matthew Snyder graduated with a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. from Stetson University. He is currently pursuing a J.D. from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and is editor-in-chief of the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review. Matthew formerly served as a legal intern in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Examinations. He will spend his summer in Gunster’s West Palm Beach office.
