Ft. Lauderdale, FL: Jennifer Ramach, an attorney with the law firm of Gunster Yoakley, has been named co-chair of the 2006 Junior League’s Riverwalk Run, 5-K / 5-Mile event, scheduled for March 25, 2006. Ramach, a member of the firm’s litigation department, has been a member of the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale for the past four years and on the Run Committee for the past two years. This is her first time chairing the event.
“The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale does so much good for the community, including supporting such important causes as the Jack and Jill Nursery, the Ronald McDonald House and the City of Fort Lauderdale in the development of a new park,” said Ramach. “This event is a great way to raise money for the community and a terrific networking and get-healthy opportunity.”
Last year, the event attracted more than 1200 participants, and raised approximately $40,000, and race organizers anticipate surpassing those totals this year. The race begins at 7:00 a.m. at Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale on the corner of Andrews Avenue and Las Olas Boulevard and travels through Rio Vista, circling back to the starting point. The race is open to both runners and walkers.
The Junior League of Fort Lauderdale, Inc. is committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
