WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 16, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that it has promoted five of its associate attorneys to shareholders of the firm.
“Each year at this time, the firm’s board of directors reviews our associate lawyers and invites a few good men and women to promote to shareholder status,” said Bill Perry, managing shareholder of Gunster. “This is a memorable milestone in a legal career and, this year, five individuals have distinguished themselves through their legal accomplishments, community involvement, collegiality and teamwork.“
Timothy Danninger – business litigation – Jacksonville
Tim focuses on general commercial litigation as well as toxic tort matters. He joined the firm in 2011 and has represented the contractor of a 790-megawatt coal-fired power plant in claims against its subcontractors; a professional sports franchise team in bankruptcy; and a former NYSE company in an adversary action brought by its Taiwanese distributor, among other notable case work. He earned his B.S. from The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California, in 2000 and his J.D. from Arizona State University in 2004.
Aaron Jay Horowitz – business litigation – Fort Lauderdale
Aaron joined Gunster in 2007 and his work has included the defense of a Fortune 100 national bank in a class-action lawsuit over check-cashing fees; an agricultural producer against a shareholder class-action lawsuit alleging ERISA violations and breaches of fiduciary duty; and a governmental agency in a real property dispute with an energy company. Aaron earned his degrees from the University of Florida, first a B.S.B.A. (2004) and then his J.D. at UF’s Levin College of Law (2007).
Mariana R. Ribeiro – business immigration – Miami
Mariana joined the firm in 2008 and has frequently presented and published on topics of interest to its business clients, including employment issues (recruiting foreign workers, I-9 programs), same-sex couples and families traveling abroad, and corporate immigration and health care recruiter concerns. Mariana earned her B.A. from New College of Florida (2002) and her J.D. from UF’s Levin College of Law (2006).
Daniel J. Glassman – corporate & tax law, private wealth services – West Palm Beach
Daniel joined the Gunster family in 2007 and focuses his practice on federal and state taxation, including corporate, partnership and individual income taxation. He received his LL.M. in taxation from UF in 2008 and was managing editor of the Florida Law Review at UF Levin College of Law, from which he graduated in 2006. He also received his B.S. and M.Acc. from UF in 2002 and 2006, respectively.
Keith E. Sonderling – employment law, business litigation – West Palm Beach
Keith has presented and published extensively in the field of employment and business law, including business strategies to address health care reform, wage & hour litigation, and physician's orders for life-sustaining treatment. Keith joined Gunster in 2008 and was recently appointed by Gov. Scott to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 4th District Court of Appeal for the 2012-2016 term. He earned his B.S. from UF in 2005 and his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2008.
