WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 28, 2019) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin Cleary as a government affairs consultant to its Tallahassee office.
Prior to joining Gunster, Cleary served as the Legislative Affairs Director at the Department of Environmental Protection. While advocating for the Governor’s top legislative priorities, he developed an intimate understanding of environmental policy and regulatory issues important to businesses throughout Florida. Prior to his service at the Department, Kevin represented business clients and local governmental entities before Florida’s executive and legislative branches on issues related to agriculture, infrastructure, affordable housing, regulated industries, education and information technology, among others.
Cleary is a native of Florida’s capital city and graduated from Florida State University. He remains engaged in the Tallahassee community, involved with the Tallahassee Area Association of Environmental Professionals and on the board of directors at Big Bend Hospice.
“Kevin is skilled in navigating the inner workings of state and local government,” says Lila Jaber, regional managing shareholder and head of the firm’s government affairs practice. “He brings knowledge of the executive branch along with legislative experience with him to Gunster which will be a significant addition to our talented team.”
Gunster’s Government Affairs Law & Lobbying practice represents commercial and individual interests across a cross-section of industries, including energy, public and private utilities, natural gas and water, among many others.
