Brian M. Seymour has become a member of the board of trustees for the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). Seymour will also serve as chair of the JFNA Emergency Committee.

Florida Governor Rick Scott has reappointed Gunster attorney Timothy N. Thomes to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 16th circuit. Thomes’ four-year term runs from November 19, 2014, to July 1, 2018. Thomes was first appointed to the commission in 2011.

Gunster attorney Luna Phillips has been voted onto the board of directors for the Florida section of the American Water Resources Association.

Aaron W. Tandy has been appointed vice chair of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce board of governors for 2014-15. He previously served as vice chair in 2010-11, and has been on the board since 2004.

Jeff Jonasen has been selected by the organization’s board as a member of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission’s (EDC) board of directors for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

Gunster attorney Christopher P. Benvenuto has been named to the board of trustees for the Palm Beach area chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Two Gunster attorneys were recently selected for recognition by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the primary economic development organization for Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County.

Simon Ferro, a shareholder in Gunster’s Miami office, has been inducted into the Miami Dade College 2014 Hall of Fame. Ferro has more than 30 years’ experience in the areas of zoning, land use and governmental relations. He is a former U.S. ambassador to Panama and maintains strong ties in Latin America.
