WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 24, 2013) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Brian M. Seymour, a practice leader and shareholder in Gunster’s West Palm Beach office, has been reappointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Florida Elections Commission, as its vice chair. He was first appointed to the commission in 2009.
The governor-appointed commission is an administrative agency housed within the Department of Legal Affairs, Office of the Attorney General, and is tasked with ensuring transparency in Florida’s elections. Seymour joins a key assembly of commissioners with diverse backgrounds and professional experiences.
Seymour, who joined Gunster in 1997, is a business attorney concentrating his practice on land use and development, and environmental and property rights. He is a member of many professional associations, including the Palm Beach County Bar Association, American Planning Association and Urban Land Institute. He is a former vice chair of The Florida Bar’s Eminent Domain Committee and current member of the Bar’s Property Rights Committee.
