Becky Saka

Overview

Becky Saka is an associate in Gunster’s Miami office who focuses primarily on complex commercial and business litigation as well as appellate law.

Ranked third in her class, Becky graduated summa cum laude from St. Thomas University School of Law. While in law school, Becky served as Executive Editor of the St. Thomas Law Review and earned CALI Excellence Awards in twelve courses.

Becky has gained experience at every level of the Florida court system, as she clerked for J. Andrew Atkinson at the Florida Second District Court of Appeal upon graduating from law school and interned for Justice Jorge Labarga of the Florida Supreme Court and Judge Thomas J. Rebull of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida during law school. Becky has also gained experience at the federal level with internships at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida in the Asset Forfeiture Division and at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida for U.S. Magistrate Judge Edwin G. Torres.

Prior to joining Gunster, Becky was an associate at a litigation firm in Miami, where she litigated in state and federal court and in arbitration on a variety of complex commercial and business disputes, including disputes involving landlords and tenants, condominium associations, lenders and borrowers, real estate purchasers and sellers, judgment creditors and debtors, and partners, members and shareholders of business entities. Becky has worked on cases at all stages of litigation and has assisted in evidentiary hearings, final hearings, and a jury trial. Utilizing her appellate background, Becky has also worked on multiple appeals as the primary drafter of appellate briefs and petitions.

In her free time, Becky enjoys yoga, cooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs.
