Christine Sweet

Overview

Christine is a litigation attorney in Jacksonville. She focuses her practice on complex trust and estate litigation and professional fiduciary risk management.

Christine represents individuals and businesses in disputes over trust and estate matters, including breach of fiduciary duty claims, will and trust contests, contested accountings, and proceedings for removal and surcharge of fiduciaries. Christine also assists fiduciaries and beneficiaries with trust termination, modification and construction proceedings, as well as advises individual and professional fiduciaries on their legal obligations with the goal of minimizing risk and avoiding litigation.

Christine graduated cum laude from the University of Florida College of Law. In law school, Christine was a member of the Journal of Law and Public Policy and served as a teaching assistant for Legal Research & Writing and Appellate Advocacy. Christine earned a book award in Trial Practice and volunteered as a Student Ambassador and in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance clinic.

Christine began her legal career as an assistant state attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit and most recently served in the Special Assault Division before transitioning to civil practice. As an assistant state attorney, Christine prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases, taking several to jury trial. Prior to law school, Christine was a teacher focused on students with special needs.

Christine is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Daniel organization, Florida’s oldest child-service non-profit, and is a member of the Estate Planning Counsel of Northeast Florida.

A native of New York, Christine is the daughter of Brazilian immigrants. Christine has made Jacksonville her home and enjoys spending time with her husband and young children, cheering on the Jags, and traveling.
