Dylan T. Coons

Overview

Dylan Coons, a shareholder in Gunster’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity practice group, advises business owners and C-suite executives, private equity firms, other financial sponsors, and portfolio companies in connection with complex strategic transactions. Dylan focuses his practice on representing both sell-side and buy-side clients in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and other special situation transactions. He also advises founders on entity formation, issuers and investors in security offerings, entrepreneurs on joint venture and partnership arrangements, and business leaders on corporate governance and other business law matters.

Dylan employs a practical approach while working with entrepreneurial clients through all stages of the business life cycle and is committed to efficiently adding value and obtaining the best results for his clients. He finds it especially rewarding to serve as a trusted legal advisor to individuals at every stage—from start-up through transition and succession—and prides himself on helping them achieve their financial and life goals.

Dylan previously served as a corporate attorney and member of the Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets practice groups of Hunton & Williams LLP in Atlanta, GA, and Vinson & Elkins LLP in Washington, DC. He graduated from Emory University School of Law, with honors, and earned a Transactional Law and Skills Certificate. Prior to law school, Dylan attended Florida State University, graduating magna cum laude with degrees in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management and Finance.

Born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area, Dylan enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, being on or under the water, and all things involving animals and nature.
